Business Internships and Placements module
The Business Internships and Placements module is designed for Year 2 undergraduates, to encourage students to enhance their employability through a guided programme of study and practical work-based experience.
Direction is provided through subject-based seminars, interactive electronic resources and personal guidance. An understanding of the key elements of the selection and recruitment process, raising self-awareness of key skills and competencies will be covered.
Students are required to undertake an approved work placement or summer internship, for a minimum of 140 hours (4 weeks). This can be completed during or after the taught element of the module, part-time or full-time.
In 2022/23 we had 120 students undertake a placement through the Business Internships and placements module. Students are responsible for sourcing and securing their own placement.
I chose the Business Internships & Placement (BIP) module as I was already keen on doing a summer internship in the financial sector and wanted to equip myself with the best resources to maximise my chances of a successful application.
