Overview

Sian joined the Business School as an adjunct in 2020, and in 2022 become a Lecturer in Human Resource Management (HRM), teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Sian is a graduate from the University of Exeter, having followed the widening participation route of entry into Undergraduate Year 3 from Exeter College, and following this up with an MSc in HRM, and an ESRC funded MRes in Management.

Prior to working for the University full-time, Sian was a Lecturer in HRM at UWE Bristol, co-leading an undergraduate module, teaching across a range of undergraduate modules in HRM and management, and supervising dissertations. She also has prior experience working as a business advisor for start-ups, and within HR for a charity.

Sian is the Programme Director for both the BSc Business & Management and the BSc Business Studies. Her teaching currently focuses on HRM, employment relations, people management skills and behaviours, and business and management.

Teaching

Sian’s main area of teaching is within Human Resource Management, although she also has teaching experience across general management modules.

Currently her teaching is focussed upon HRM, employment relations, people management skills and behaviours, and business and management.
