Overview

Dr Idika Awa Uduma is a lecturer in International Business in the Department of Management, University of Exeter. Prior to the present appointment, Idika worked in as a lecturer in Management in the University of Huddersfield Business School. Previously, Idika served as a lecturer in International Business and Marketing in the University of Essex Business School, Southend Campus. Also, Idika had a short fixed-term contract with London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) as a part-time lecturer in Management. He also previously served as a lecturer in Marketing at the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

Idika can be described as a multidisciplinary academic and he is knowledgeable in both quantitative and qualitative research techniques. Idika’s current research interest is in innovation creation and capabilities building among SMEs and MNEs. Idika’s PhD thesis explored the fundamental question of the capabilities that underpin the growth and internationalization of emerging market MNEs, focusing particularly on the mechanisms through which MNEs build such capabilities. Idika is a recipient of the prestigious Global Talent endorsement from the British Academy in acknowledgement of his invaluable contributions to knowledge.

Idika received his PhD in 2020 from Birkbeck College, University of London. Prior to the PhD, Idika obtained an MSc in Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship from Newcastle University, Master of Business Administration (MBA), and Bachelor of Science (BSc) (First Class Honours) degrees from the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Idika is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK.
