Module description
This non-credit bearing/non-assessed module, available to all PGT students in the Business School, is designed to give you the time and space to explore your career options and support you through the graduate recruitment process.
You are not required to attend all of the workshops, instead you can choose the stream and sessions that best fit your career development needs.
The streams are broken down into:
- A quick start series to help you explore and identify your options.
- Finding a job and work experience.
- Competing in the job market (part one): CVs, application forms and cover letters.
- Competing in the job market (part two): interviews, assessment centres and psychometric testing.
Each series will run twice a term, so you will have the opportunity to access the learning at the right time for you.
Additional Information:
Internationalisation: all workshops compliment the China Career Ready and India Career Ready programmes to support international students and will focus on navigating the UK graduate recruitment market.
Sustainability: Materials and resources will be sent to participants after workshops. Workshops are also mapped to the UN SDGs through individual workshop design.
External Engagement: Employer and alumni panels will be signposted to in the sessions.

The module is designed to enhance your employability through a guided programme of study that will prepare you to find and apply for appropriate positions when you graduate. Careers guidance and skills development will be delivered through workshops and online resources.
