Study Abroad for undergraduate students
A truly global university experience
Studying abroad is a fantastic opportunity to experience new countries and cultures, meet people from all over the world, develop your personal skill set and boost your employability. Any Business School student can take advantage of our many international opportunities. Whichever option you choose, one thing is certain - your experience at the University of Exeter Business School can reach far beyond the South West of England.
It is becoming more and more vital that universities also prepare graduates for the world of work.
This means that the development of soft skills, like team-playing and resilience, often becomes as important as the technical skills and knowledge acquired during a degree. Opportunities for internships, study abroad, extra-curricular activity and active learning can all contribute to the development of these and other skills universities want.

Studying abroad gives you great experience of international cultures, values and languages which can crucially enhance your professional skill set especially when entering the international graduate job market. Being able to demonstrate an understanding of other cultures, global politics, and the ability to communicate across languages and cultures is a huge benefit in any role and will really help set you apart during the recruitment process. Living and studying in a new country will naturally enhance your adaptability, cross-cultural communication, self-confidence, resilience, and will stimulate creative thinking. Studying abroad in a different country with students from all around the world is also a great way to build and expand your global network of friends and professional contacts.
A report from Universities UK International shows that students who go abroad during their degree are 20% less likely to be unemployed, 10% more likely to be in graduate level jobs 6 months after graduation, and earn 7% more 6 months post graduation, compared to those who don't.

Studying abroad opportunities are available to all Business School students regardless of language ability. We have opportunities in English speaking countries as well as in countries where English is not the predominant language. Most of our partner universities also offer a full range of modules taught in English, regardless of the local language.
If you do want to study in a language other than English, you will have to be sufficiently competent. This may involve taking classes through the University of Exeter’s Foreign Language Centre, which caters for all levels of ability. Even if you will be taught in English, you might still want to take some classes to prepare for your new environment. You’ll also have the chance to carry on any new language skills in your fourth year.
We currently offer opportunities in over 60 universities in Australia, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Mexico, The Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and the USA.
