Sue has built a diverse career in healthcare since 1991, both in the NHS and the private sector. During her management career, she completed a CMI approved programme in Chartered Health Management and as a mature student, trained as a Diagnostic Radiographer and later specialised in MRI.

Her experience balancing work, life, and studies informs her approach to mentoring. Since 2019, Sue has been teaching and mentoring at the University of Exeter, initially in Medical Imaging and currently with the Business School.

As an Associate Lecturer/Academic Mentor, Sue is passionate about supporting and teaching apprentices, drawing upon her extensive clinical, leadership and managerial experience along with an understanding of Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Co-facilitation of the Mary Seacole programme, provides Sue the opportunity to share her experiences and understanding of both the NHS and Independent sectors, whilst supporting learners and providing feedback on their reflective and reflexive contributions.
