Overview
Clare is Senior Lecturer on the Degree Apprenticeships programmes, joining Exeter in 2023.
She has a mixed background in both industry and academia. Before becoming a full time academic, she was a highly experienced project manager working with the cultural sector, creative industries and education providers. She has a particularly strong background in the museums and galleries sector, supporting sustainable development and inclusive practices.
Clare was co-founder of an award-winning experience design company which delivered a breadth of consultancy and live projects throughout the cultural, corporate and community sectors, in addition to training contracts for senior managers in creative organisations.
Prior to joining Exeter, Clare was leading an international creative management MA programme, supporting professionals to develop their creativity and practice and embed sustainable and inclusive design into their management practice.
Clare is passionate about working with leaders to bring a combination of academic theory, creativity and a flair for innovation to their organisations.

Research interests
Her research interests centre upon the design of sustainable organisations and the application of transformative leadership. She also has a strong interest in the management of end-of-life experiences within communities. She continues to act as industry consultant on sustainable design and stakeholder engagement projects.
