Distinguished Research Professor




Anthony joined Exeter as a part-time Research Professor in 2020. He is also a Full Professor and Senior (Tier 1) Canada Research Chair in environmental economics at the University of Ottawa, in the Canadian capital, a role he has held since 2011. He has degrees from the University of Cambridge and McGill University, previously held Chairs in economics at University of London and University of Sussex Business School and was a Fellow of Nuffield College, University of Oxford.

Anthony has wide-ranging research, teaching and consulting interests in environmental impacts and policy design. His research exploits both theoretical and empirical methods. Current foci include behavioural approaches to policy, corporate environmental conduct and identifying the causal impact of environmental conditions (for example pollution, climate patterns) on a variety of socially and economically important outcomes.
