Overview

Sarah joined the University of Exeter in October 2023. In her PhD entitled "Essays on the Economics of Wildfires" she assessed extreme events and economic impacts of wildfires by assembling rich data sets merging satellite data on a number of climate variables with economic data using applied econometrics. Sarah is interested in the fields of empirical climate and environmental economics with a focus on extreme weather events, natural hazards, and biodiversity. 

Qualifications

  • PhD in Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences (University of Birmingham)
  • MSc in Climate Sciences with specification in Economics (Oeschger Centre for Climate Change Research)
  • BSc in Economics (University of Bern)
