Overview
Daniele joined the Department of Economics and LEEP in September 2021. He was previously at the University of Cambridge and the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, where he obtained his PhD in 2018 and subsequently led a 2-year interdisciplinary research project.
His research lies at the nexus of environmental, development and mathematical economics. Currently he studies optimal resource management under the threat of regime shifts and natural catastrophes and the economic impact of endemic diseases, with a focus on Sub-Saharan Africa. He also works on probability theory and stochastic analysis, with a focus on nonlinear diffusion processes.
He is also a classical pianist, performing internationally.

His current research studies the economic impact of climate shocks, regime shifts and endemic diseases, focusing on sub-Saharan Africa, renewable resources management and the role of water infrastructures. He is an applied theorist with roots in probability theory and stochastic control, with a particular interest on applications of nonlinear diffusion processes and mean-field games.
