Yilin Quan is currently a Postgraduate Researcher at the University of Exeter. His research interests include design education, designer resilience, strategic design, design creativity, creative facilitation, culture sensitive design, participatory design, and design research. His PhD project explores resilience within the design education system, aiming to develop a holistic understanding of designer resilience and to inform the creation of interventions and strategies that can strengthen resilience in higher design education.
Before beginning his PhD, Yilin worked closely with the Delft Design for Values Institute and the Connected Creativity Lab, both affiliated with Delft University of Technology, where he completed his Master’s degree (Cum Laude) in Strategic Product Design. Before that, he earned a BEng (First Class Honours) in Industrial Design from the University of Liverpool and Xi'an Jiao-tong Liverpool University.
He welcomes discussions about shared research interests and collaboration.
