Degree Apprenticeships (Business School)
About me:
I joined the Degree Apprenticeships department in the Business School in 2019. I have been part of the Academic mentor team, and an internal quality assurer.
I designed, developed and held the role of Programme Director for both the Operations/ Departmental Manager Apprenticeship and the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship from 2021-2023.
I held the post of Director of Education for Degree Apprenticeships from 2021 - 2024.
Prior to joining Exeter, I worked in Further Education designing and managing apprenticeship programmes. The programmes I managed were consistently graded as grade 1 Outstanding by Ofsted inspectors (2006, 2012 and 2019) and internal inspection processes (2003, 2005, 2010, 2015, 2018).
During my 21 years in further education, I designed and directed programmes in Sports Management, Public Services, Teacher Training and Business Management. Within all of my posts in Further Education, I also held roles in quality assurance and ran internal training programmes for colleagues, supporting their development and providing sector specific updates.
I was also a Senior Assessment Associate with Pearson for 8 years, advising educational institutions about FE programmes and providing quality assurance on assessment outcomes at a national level.
I am currently an Associate Professor, Head of Assessment and Progression for the Centre for Degree Partnerships.
My research is focused on inclusive education, specifically on the experience of transgender students in higher eductaion.
