Sian joined the Business School as an adjunct in 2020, and in 2022 became a Lecturer in Human Resource Management (HRM), teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Sian is a graduate of the University of Exeter, having followed the widening participation route of entry into Undergraduate Year 3 from Exeter College, and following this up with an MSc in HRM, and an ESRC-funded MRes in Management.
She is passionate about improving the student experience, especially for inclusivity, linked with her experiences of having ADHD, and for widening participation, as a previous non-standard route entrant to higher education.
Before working for the University full-time, Sian was a Lecturer in HRM at UWE Bristol, co-leading an undergraduate module, teaching across a range of undergraduate modules in HRM and management, and supervising dissertations. She also has prior experience working as a business advisor for start-ups, and within HR for a charity.
Sian is the Programme Director for both the BSc Business & Management and the BSc Business Studies. Her teaching currently focuses on HRM, employment relations, people management skills and behaviours, and business and management.
She is a Senior Fellow of the HEA (SFHEA), an Associate Member of the CIPD and a Certified Business Management Educator (CMBE).
