Degree Apprenticeships (Business School)

About me:

I am a Senior Lecturer in Management at the University of Exeter Business School. I am the programme director of the Doctor of Business Administration Programme (DBA) and teach in the Chartered Manager and Senior People Professional programmes. My current research focuses on online communities of practice and social mobility in work transitions. My service work includes being an Advanced Teaching Practitioner, with a focus on the development of students' skills and behaviours.

I have worked for seven years in Human Resource Management, with a focus on workforce planning, recruitment, and employee relations. I also founded and operated a web-based recruitment company in Canada and have a strong interest in entrepreneurialism and the start-up ecosystem.

My interests in careers management and personal development led me into Higher Education, with a focus on building employability and coaching pedagogies into teaching practices. I have worked for three years teaching employability at the undergraduate and postgraduate taught level, and most recently was working in the Academic Development office at the University of Exeter, supporting academics and staff members in their teaching practice.
