About me:
Dr Jo Bowler joined the University of Exeter Business School in 2024 as a Research Impact Fellow on the Developing Business Aware Academics (DBAA) project. Jo is interested in the connection between academia and business to accelerate the translation of research ideas to drive change for good.
Jo works in collaboration with academic, industry and non-profit partners to develop initiatives for researchers that build entrepreneurial mindsets, skills and networks.
Prior to joining the Business School, Jo held positions across industry and the non-profit sector in biotech, astronomy and neurotechnology in the UK and internationally. Most recently she led the communications and engagement at the Wyss Center in Switzerland, a non-profit neuroscience research organisation connecting academia and industry to translate technologies to the clinic.
Jo previously conducted post-doctoral research in the evolutionary biomechanics of human bipedal walking at the University of Manchester and received her PhD in equine biomechanics from the Royal Veterinary College, University of London.
