About me:
Dr Jo Bowler is a Research Impact Fellow at the University of Exeter Business School working on the Developing Business-Aware Academics (DBAA) project. Jo is interested in the connection between academia and business to accelerate the translation of research ideas and drive innovation-led growth.
Jo works in collaboration with academic, industry and non-profit partners to develop initiatives for researchers that build entrepreneurial mindsets, skills and networks.
Prior to joining the Business School, Jo held positions across industry and the non-profit sector in biotech, astronomy and neurotechnology in the UK and internationally. Most recently she led the communications and engagement at the Wyss Center in Switzerland, a philanthropically funded neurotechnology research organisation connecting academia and industry to translate technologies to the clinic.
Jo previously conducted post-doctoral research in the evolutionary biomechanics of human bipedal walking at the University of Manchester and received her PhD in equine biomechanics from the Royal Veterinary College, University of London.
