Mr Aurel Kucani

Aurel is a Senior Lecturer in Finance & Accounting at the University of Exeter Business School, where he has been a faculty member since 2008. He currently serves as Director of the BSc Finance Programme, overseeing pathways in Investment Banking, Data Science, and Business Management. 

With extensive experience in curriculum design and delivery, Aurel has taught Accounting and Finance at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, both at Exeter and internationally at Nanjing University of Finance and Economics in China. His expertise spans teaching to both specialist and non-specialist audiences, with a strong focus on student engagement and applied learning. Aurel has been widely recognised for his contributions to education and leadership, receiving multiple awards for excellence in teaching, innovation, and impact on the student experience.

Aurel holds a first-class BA (Hons) degree in Accounting and Finance and an MSc (Hons) in Accounting and Finance with distinction from the University of Exeter. He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) and a Certified Management and Business Educator (CMBE) accredited by the Chartered Association of Business Schools. Aurel also holds professional memberships with the Society for Research into Higher Education (SRHE) and the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA).
