Dr Abdullah Gök

Abdullah Gök is an Associate Professor (Reader) at the University of Exeter Business School. Abdullah is also an Honorary Research Fellow at both the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research (MIoIR), Alliance Manchester Business School, and the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research. Before joining the University of Exeter in January 2024, he held academic positions at the Strathclyde Business School, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, and Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester. Prior to relocating to the United Kingdom for his doctoral studies in 2006, Dr Gök worked as a policy researcher at The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) between 2003 and 2006.

 

Dr Gök’s research has been featured in numerous prestigious academic and non-academic outlets. From 2019 to 2024, he served as an Associate Editor for Technological Forecasting and Social Change, and since October 2022, he has been a member of the Editorial Board for Scientific Data.

Dr Gök has contributed to several advisory committees for the European Union and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) on data science and innovation. He is currently an elected Board Member of the European Network of Indicator Designers.
