Rory Murphy

I’m an interdisciplinary social scientist researching ethical and environmental impacts of artificial intelligence and AI-powered technologies. I connect to developers who produce AI technology and infrastructure, regulators and policymakers that shape development, and the publics who experience their results.

I look to generate impact from transdisciplinary research and have recently produced digital public engagement approaches that improve upstream ethical reflection in industrial technology development.

I am a Knowledge Exchange and Impact Fellow on the ACCESS project – Environmentally Just AI: Examining AI’s environmental impacts through environmental social science.
