About me:

Noel Morrin held, for more than thirty years, senior executive and C-suite roles focused on Sustainability. He worked for British (ICI plc, AEA Technology plc, RMC Group plc), Finnish (Stora Enso Oyj) and Swedish (Skanska AB) corporations with leading international positions in forest products & packaging, construction & property development, heavy building materials (concrete, aggregates and cement), environmental consultancy and chemicals. Alongside several of these roles he held positions of trust in the World Business Council for Sustainable Development where he had influential roles in the Cement Sustainability Initiative, The Energy Efficiency in Buildings Initiative and the Forest Solutions Group. For three years he was a Redefining Value Board member, a group of mostly CFOs from B2C companies working to improve corporate alignment with the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosure. For the UN Environment Programme, he co-chaired for three years the Greening the Building Supply Chain project under its Sustainable Buildings and Climate Initiative. He was a steering group member of the UN Global Compact (UNGC) and Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors project that produced the UNGC Land, Real Estate and Construction best practice guide. In the early 1990s he led the British non-profit Business in the Environment (BiE). Its mission was to develop and promote the business case for environmental responsibility in the finance and corporate sectors. He held the post of Director, National Environmental Technology Centre during the restructuring of the UK Atomic Energy Authority (AEA) and subsequent privatisation of AEA Technology, where he was based.
