Dr Melody Kuziwa Jombe (She/Her)

Business Strategy and Marketing
About me:
Melody Kuziwa Jombe is a Deputy Program Director for Business School: WYA With Year Abroad and Lecturer in Strategic Management at the University of Exeter Business School. Melody brings a wide range of knowledge from corporate business having worked in FMCG, and Market research industries. Before joining Exeter, Melody was an academic reviewer for Southern New Hampshire (Gem Hub), an initiative that focuses on expanding tertiary education to the most vulnerable and under resourced groups. Her doctoral thesis incorporated a critical incident technique in identifying the causal attributions of venture distress.
In 2024, Melody Co-founded Black Heritage University Group (B-HUGs) in collaboration with some of the TED WRAGG Trust Schools. The B-HUGs project aims to provide role modelling and mentoring support to Black High School students around Exeter. The initiative allows students to visit the campus and have different diverse sessions across Faculties thus providing this group of students with exposure and different opportunities that awaits them in the future. The driving force for this initiative was a lack of representation of Black academics along the academic pipeline.
