Dr Lei Liu

Dr Lei Liu joined the Department of Management in 2023. She is also an Honorary Research Fellow at UCL School of Management, contributing to a Future Leader Fellowship research programme on Cross-sectoral Innovations funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).

Lei's research focuses on connections and collaborations. She is passionate about investigating how people collaborate in innovative ways to solve societal problems. She is also interested in how people's social networks interplay with their psychological processes and behaviors to affect career outcomes. 

One major project Lei is leading now explores the collaborations between the NHS and third-sector organizations (charities, non-governmental, and voluntary organizations). This work in progress received the Best International/Comparative Conference Paper Award granted by the Public and Nonprofit (PNP) Division at the 2024 Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management.
