Dr Kate Ellis joined the University of Exeter Business School in April 2024 as a Research Fellow on the Developing Business Aware Academics project.
Kate is a chartered manager with research interest, and professional experience, in research culture and researcher wellbeing in an interdisciplinary environment. She is interested in ways in which universities can provide psychologically-safe spaces for researchers to open up more, and different, opportunities for success. In her current role, she works in collaboration with the Chartered Association of Business Schools as well as university and industry partners to build an evidence base to identify, develop and evaluate new initiatives that build entrepreneurial mindsets, skills and networks.
Kate has 24 years’ experience in the Higher Education sector, in both academic and professional services roles, and was previously the Centre Manager of the Wellcome Centre for Cultures and Environments of Health at the University.
Kate received her PhD in English Literature from Bath Spa University, and has previously taught and published in the field of early modern literature, culture and politics.
