Dr Jingqi Qiu joined Exeter Business School as a Lecturer in Education and Scholarship (E&S) in September 2021, contributing to both teaching and research. She completed her PhD at the University of Sussex in 2022, where her doctoral research explored the role of social media usage in internal and external marketing contexts.

Since joining the University of Exeter, Jingqi has designed, developed, and delivered a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules, including Integrated Marketing Communications, Marketing Analysis and Research, and Consumer Behaviour in the Digital Environment. Her teaching is recognised for providing engaging, high-quality learning experiences that support students’ academic development and employability across levels.

Jingqi’s teaching philosophy is informed by contemporary pedagogical approaches and centres on achieving a strong balance between theoretical foundations and practical implications. She is particularly passionate about embedding gamification, interactivity, and digitally enabled learning strategies into her teaching to enhance student engagement and enrich the overall learning experience.

From September 2025, Jingqi serves as the Programme Director for the MSc Digital Marketing, where she leads curriculum development and programme delivery with a strong focus on innovation, student experience, and industry relevance.

Alongside her teaching leadership, Jingqi maintains an active research profile. Her research interests lie in the intersection of frontline employees, digital technologies, and value creation, particularly in understanding how emerging technologies reshape employee–customer interactions. Her work has been published in leading academic journals, including the European Journal of Marketing and the Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice. Jingqi warmly welcomes enquiries from prospective PhD students interested in digital marketing, technology-enabled service, and employee–customer interfaces.
