Mr Greg Blanchfield

Senior Lecturer
Sustainable Futures

After graduating from the University of Natal, Greg entered the corporate world in South Africa and was fast tracked into senior positions in both Marketing & Finance. During this period, he completed an MBA at the University of Cape Town, winning the Alan Gray award for top Strategy student.

At 30, Greg returned to his native Zimbabwe to follow his entrepreneurial instincts and created a distribution, wholesale and retail business in the luxury beauty sector, representing the world's leading brands, now present in 14 countries across Africa.

At 50, whilst retaining a non-executive role, Greg decided to step back from his corporate operational duties to follow his real passion - teaching with a view to "giving back" – and after completing a Strategic Marketing course at Harvard, joined the University of Exeter at Penryn in 2020, where in his first year of teaching won both the "Inspirational Teaching" and "Extra Mile" awards.

Greg joined the Streatham campus in 2024 where he was shortlisted for the campus-wide Student Guild "Educator of the Year" award and was winner of the Business School "Educator of the Year" award. Greg was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2024.
