Dr Liz Horberg (she/her)

Dr. Horberg joined the University of Exeter in 2024. Prior to this, she held positions as Senior Research Fellow at Yale-NUS College (Singapore), Post-Doctoral Fellow at Stanford University (U.S.), and earned her Ph.D. in social-personality psychology from UC-Berkeley (U.S.). Currently, she investigates mindset interventions that support successful transitions to university and the workforce; social and motivational factors that narrow achievement gaps and improve social mobility; and the role of wealth and socioeconomic status in shaping educational and career trajectories and inequalities.

 

Dr. Horberg’s position and projects have been supported by funding from the UKRI Economic and Social Research Council (U.K.), the National Institutes of Health (U.S.), the Ministry of Education (Singapore), and the Workforce Applied Development Research Fund (Singapore). She is currently a member of the Exeter Centre For Leadership (U.K.) and the Healthy Longevity Consortium in Singapore.
