Dr Constantine Manolchev

Dr Constantine Manolchev, a Senior Lecturer in Sustainable Futures, is an award-winning educator and academic leader in the fields of AI and Responsible Management Education.

He is the Business School's Sustainability Lead and PRME Champion, where he chairs the School Sustainability Group. In 2026 he became a co-chair of the PRME Working Group in Emerging Technologies and Responsible Management Education, and since 2025 he has represented the University of Exeter on the PRME UK&I Steering Group and as a local network co-lead for South West and South Wales. Constantine is also an academic advisor on the Help to Grow programme, developing curricula on the role of AI in supporting Good Jobs and Economic Growth (SDG8).

His secondary area of expertise is ethical (SDG16)  and sustainable (SDG11) organisational practices. In 2022, Constantine led research on a clean growth report for Cornwall, commissioned by the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. In 2023 he was part of a team, which produced a follow-up report for Innovate UK.

Constantine arrived in the UK on a scholarship from the prestigious George Soros Open Society Foundation. In 2016, he completed a PhD in Business and Management at Plymouth University, supervised by Professor Duncan Lewis and Professor Richard Saundry. Constantine has a BA (Hons) in Politics, Philosophy and Economics gained through part-time study with the Open University, a Postgraduate Certificate in Social Research Methods (The Open University), a Postgraduate Certificate in HRM, a Postgraduate Certificate in Research Methodology and a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (Plymouth University). He is a Senior Fellow of the HEA.

Prior to joining the University of Exeter, Constantine worked in hospital procurement, human resources and was a business advisor for local government.
