About Me
I joined the Business School as Academic Mentor in February 2023, and I am currently the Lead Academic Mentor for the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship (CMDA) Open and Mary Seacole programmes. With over 20 years of experience in higher education, I have held various roles, including Programme Lead, module lead, and lecturer in Early Childhood Studies, most recently at The Open University.
Prior to my academic career, I worked as a primary school teacher and Montessori nursery manager/teacher, and I spent about 10 years in Human Resources at Oxford University.
As a Fellow of Advance HE, I am dedicated to advancing educational practices. My latest research paper was published in The Journal of Transformative Education in December 2022, and I have presented at significant conferences, including the Centre for Research in Early Childhood (2021) and Oxford Brookes' Teaching and Learning Conference (2019).
My extensive background in education, early childhood development, and human resources informs my approach to mentoring and research, particularly in the context of the CMDA and Mary Seacole programmes, which aim to develop future leaders in management.
