I am an academic practitioner in Accounting, Finance, and Management with a specific interest in teaching within business decision and employment contexts. I have proven commitment and excellence in empowering and supporting colleagues and students to improve their competence and confidence in their development.
I strongly believe in learning for a purpose, and my teaching and assessment is designed around real-world business contexts and in developing skills for immediate application in study and employment.
My teaching philosophy and methods are based on “Enable, Encourage, Empower for Employability”. I have over 15 years’ teaching experience in a variety of modules on foundation, degree and post-graduate level programmes, and in both South-East Asia and the UK. My teaching expertise is furthered by my formal English language teaching qualification and experience, and coaching accreditation and practice.
I have extensive knowledge and application across areas of business management as a Chartered Management Accountant, with experience gained in many industries, cultures, and environments through a variety of roles and responsibilities. I have high achievement in process-orientated and goal-focussed roles and international context projects. I particularly excel in supporting non-financial managers in developing and achieving strategic and operational goals, implementing IT, cost-management projects, and reviewing, developing, implementing, and managing operational and financial practices and developing processes and systems for audit and assurance.
