About me:
Angela Christidis is an Associate Professor of Finance and Deputy Head of the Finance and Accounting Department. She earned her PhD in Finance from the University of Exeter Business School, where she developed innovative models for predicting financial distress and explored their asset pricing implications in the UK. Angela gained experience in corporate finance, working as a financial analyst and finance manager for leading multinational firms before moving into academia. Her current research focuses on corporate finance, asset pricing, ethical investing, sustainable finance, and integrating sustainability into education.
As a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Angela has extensive expertise in finance, programme development, and education management. In her leadership roles, she has driven teaching excellence, curriculum innovation, and professional development across the Business School and University. She has championed research-led, technology-enhanced teaching approaches, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment through data-driven strategies and cross-institutional collaboration.
Angela has also led the development of several transformative programmes, including the pioneering BSc Applied Finance Degree Apprenticeship, which achieved professional accreditation, gained global recognition, and expanded employer partnerships, setting a new standard for employer-engaged education. She actively contributes to professional networks, advising on best practices in education. Her contributions, acknowledged through multiple teaching awards, reflect her strategic vision, commitment, and long-lasting impact on educational practices both nationally and internationally.
Angela is a member of the British Educational Research Association, the Society for Research into Higher Education, and the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. She is also a Certified Management and Business Educator, awarded by the Chartered Association of Business Schools.
