About me
Dr. Narmin Nahidi joined the University of Exeter in 2023 as a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Finance. She began undertaking induction and academic activities in late September 2023, with her formal employment contract commencing in October 2023.
Before joining Exeter, she was a Lecturer in Finance, Accounting and Business at the University of Central Lancashire from 2022 to 2023. She began academic activities there in late September 2022, while her formal employment contract commenced in October 2022. During this appointment, she also contributed to the development and implementation of the MSc Financial Technology programme and served as its Programme Director.
From September 2022 to September 2023, she held a short adjunct appointment at ESC Clermont Business School in France, where she delivered block teaching in FinTech and Cybersecurity.
Between 2018 and 2022, Dr. Nahidi completed her MPhil and PhD studies at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. Alongside her formal status as a postgraduate student and PhD candidate, she undertook teaching as an Associate Lecturer and worked as a Research Assistant in finance and management.
From 2011 to 2017, she completed her Associate Degree, Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Tehran. During this period, she also undertook unpaid teaching responsibilities in finance and accounting at the University of Applied Science and Technology. This was voluntary academic experience rather than contractual employment.
Dr. Nahidi holds a PhD in Finance from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. Her research focuses on corporate finance, financial technology, behavioural finance, sustainable finance, gender economics, neurofinance and financial economics. Before entering academia, she gained professional experience in financial consultancy, accounting, international business and business development.
Dr. Nahidi is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Certified Management and Business Educator. She has also completed professional training in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, machine learning and financial technology.
Her academic service includes editorial and peer-review activities for academic journals, contributions to international scientific committees, and supervision of PhD and DBA researchers. She is also a member of professional associations in finance and management.
