Overview
I joined the University of Exeter Business School in 2019 as the Director of Degree Apprenticeships. Prior to this I was the Senior Head of Curriculum: Business, Law and Professional, at South Devon College 2015-2019, during which time, I aligned the curriculum to the needs of the local community and employers. I improved attendance, retention and achievement in all disciplinary areas, within my remit and launched the South Devon College School of Law in 2018.
Between 2007 and 2019, I taught within Accounting and Finance, Business subject for which I received two Pearson Teaching Excellence Awards, and three National Training Provider Awards.
I led an Association of Colleges Outstanding Teaching Learning and Assessment project with partner colleges and employers receiving an Association of Accounting Technicians Training Provider award in 2019 for innovation in course design and delivery.
In 2017, I successfully delivered a Department of Education Flexible Learning project, which was designed to engage adults to re-skill for and re-join employment or change careers through skills development. The outcome of the project widened participation through blended learning courses.
As Director of Degree Apprenticeships, I provide strategic direction and leadership to the degree apprenticeship portfolio, and am accountable for the overall performance of the provision. I develop and build the degree apprenticeship portfolio, whilst ensuring the quality of provision and developing the student experience.
