Louise Tilbury

Louise Tilbury joined Exeter University in September 2016 as a Practitioner Research Fellow. She will be studying for her PhD within the Organisation Studies Department on the topic of Women on Boards. Last year, Louise began teaching for the Economics Department and will lead their Personal Financial Management module again in 2017.
For the last 10 years, Louise has been working as a freelance public policy consultant in the South West of England. She has been involved in a wide variety of innovative projects, from report and bid writing to business planning and delivering the nitty gritty. Most notably she consulted with Plymouth College of Art’s successful bid to start a Free School teaching through creative arts and project managed the opening of the school in just one year.
From 2001-6 Louise worked as a Senior Policy Analyst at HM Treasury, specialising in child poverty, gender and skills.

Louise is currently developing her PhD proposal around how the presence of women on boards supports board effectiveness. Within this she will be examining board dynamics and culture.

Louise Tilbury's teaching interests are around strategy and leadership. In 2016 she contributed to the Origins of Financial Crisis module giving feedback on essays. She is also interested in supporting students to develop their writing style.
