I’m the Head of Work Based Learning for the Centre for Degree Apprenticeships, focusing on standardisation and good practice across all of our apprenticeship programmes at Exeter. I also lead the team of Academic Mentors for Degree Apprenticeships in the business school, who support our apprentices throughout their programme. We have c1000 apprentices in the business school from level 4 to level 7.
My role is to make sure that apprentices are supported throughout their time with us and ensure that they guided through building their portfolio and achieving success in your End Point Assessments.
I joined the University in 2020, previously having worked in financial services as a senior leader for the past 25 years. In that time people development, coaching and mentoring has become my area of speciality. I’m proud to play a part in supporting Degree Apprentices for Exeter, it’s a privilege to see people develop and achieve through our programmes.
I am delighted to be supporting the '100 Black Women Professors NOW' programme at the University. A unique 12-month accelerator and change programme for UK higher education institutions developed and delivered by the Women’s Higher Education Network (WHEN).
In my spare time I consider myself a relatively new ultra marathon runner, enjoying long distance running in some near and far locations!
Career
30 year career in retail banking, predominantly Barclays PLC for 19 years and Nationwide Building Society for 10 years. I am an associate at South West Mutual a start up financial organisation focused on supporting the environment and local economies.
