The Postgraduate Research Support Office
The PGR Support Team takes primary responsibility for the administration and progress of your studies. The PGR Support Team are based within the University of Exeter Doctoral College, but team members each specialise in support for specific Colleges and Clusters. The Business School is part of the HASS (Humanities and Social Sciences) cluster.
The PGR Support Team working with Business School students based at Streatham are, Natalie Bartram (PGR Student Support Officer) and Maggie Smith (PGR Support Administrator). For students based at Penryn there is a PGR Support team; Jo Shepherd is the PGR Support Officer.
The PGR Support team are responsible to the College Director of Postgraduate Research, Dr Kim Peters and to the Associate Dean for Research, Professor Chendi Zhang.
The PGR Support team are available to provide support for both prospective and current postgraduate students. We are always willing to answer queries and provide help wherever possible.
Contact lists are correct at the time of writing, but individuals may change during the year, therefore it is very important that you email shared inboxes rather than individuals. Please check the PGR SharePoint for up to date information.
ach discipline has a Director of Postgraduate Research who is there to provide support to students in their discipline and who is responsible for promoting a rich academic environment for postgraduate research students within their discipline.

It is vitally important that we have secure and reliable means by which to contact you. Primary responsibility for ensuring this lies with you.
You must ensure that the University’s Student Records Office and the PGR Support team has accurate information about your whereabouts and the best means to contact you if necessary, for example if you are away on fieldwork. You are responsible for keeping your contact details up to date via iExeter.
Administrative and academic staff make every effort to reply quickly to enquiries, and we expect that students will in turn make sure that they check their Exeter email account regularly for communications and reply promptly.

Email is the main form of communication that we will use to contact you. All registered students automatically receive an email account and an @exeter.ac.uk address which can be accessed anywhere in the world with an internet connection. Your University of Exeter email can be accessed via Office 365 or iExeter. It is University policy that communication with students via email can only be conducted via their University email address. No alternative email address will be used. Members of staff who are also students will be contacted via their student account, not their staff account. It is therefore very important that you check your University student email regularly. If you normally use a different email address then you should set up an email forwarding action to ensure that you do not miss important messages from the University. We may also need to write to you at a home address or to make a telephone call. This is particularly important when students are absent from the University or based at a distance from Exeter. For this reason it is absolutely vital that you maintain accurate and up to date contact details through iExeter. |

Internal and external mail must be marked for your attention and can be delivered to the PGR study space in Hope Hall: University of Exeter EX4 4PL Items that do not relate to your research should be delivered to your home address wherever possible. If you must order something large to be delivered to the University, you must first inform the team at Building:One so that they can contact you when it arrives, and you will be emailed to arrange collection. |
