Online module selection for postgraduate students
With the start of your programme approaching, we hope that you are looking forward to arriving at the University of Exeter Business School.
You will soon receive information from the University about registering online, and receiving your IT access in time for Freshers’ Week.
We would then like you to start thinking about your choices for your elective modules that you will take alongside your compulsory programme modules for this year. Online module selection will open on Wednesday 30th August, and you can access this through iExeter, your student portal.
General guidance on choosing your electives on-line
The first thing you will need to do is check the relevant programme structure to see how many elective credits your programme allows you take. You are unable to change any of your compulsory modules as these are essential for you to gain your masters degree.
Please check the module specifications, as that will give you full information on the aims, learning outcomes, syllabus outline, reading list and assessment.
When choosing optional modules (electives) you will need to ensure it does not create any clashes on your timetable. Timetable information will be available from 18th September 2017.
Should there be a timetable clash you will be asked to choose again, as it is your responsibility to avoid this. Some modules may be subject to double teaching, which is distinguished by a group number, normally 1, 2, or 3. In these cases you will be allocated to the most appropriate group by the Student Services Team and will not be able to request a preference.
You will be choosing your electives through your student portal for everything you may need during your time at the Business School, including email and calendar access, viewing your timetable, library links, and retrieving material for submitting assignments.
You will get the opportunity to ask your Programme Directors questions on Friday 22nd September, but we ask that should you have any questions before then please email us here at the Student Services Team on firstname.lastname@example.org
Students are requested to complete online module selection by Friday 22nd September 2017 to give you the best chance of receiving your chosen electives but, if there are genuine reasons why you cannot meet that deadline, access will remain until 4pm on 29 September 2017. Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
After this day any changes that you would like to make will need to be done in person through the Student Services Team. Please note that we will only allow changes to be made up until 6th October. After this date you will have to keep with the elective choices that you have made.
