We're looking forward to welcoming you to the Business School - but we know you may have a few questions before you arrive. The information on this page will hopefully assist in pointing you in the right direction. You are always welcome to contact us directly if you can’t find what you’re looking for, or take a look at our FAQs for applicants. Advice on what happens after you apply can be found here.

FAQs

If you have been made an offer to study at Exeter you will have received an offer email and a formal offer letter with the full details of your offer, including: accommodation, tuition fees, deposits, start date and any academic/non-academic conditions you may need to satisfy.

You will need to pay your deposit to secure your place. You should pay your deposit by the deadline outlined in your offer letter even if you have not yet met the conditions of your offer. Please contact the central admissions team via our online contact form if you have any questions about your offer.

The University may consider you for a place on the programme if you have not met the conditions of your offer but have a strong overall profile and are able to demonstrate ability in your chosen subject area. In paying your deposit the University guarantees to consider your results (even if they do not meet the terms of your offer) and to refund your deposit if we are subsequently not able to offer you a place (please see our website for terms and conditions regarding your deposit payments).

Whatever your circumstances please contact us at pg-ad@exeter.ac.uk to discuss this further.

The deposit for postgraduate programmes is £1,500 for international applicants and £1,000 for Home/EU applicants. Details of your deposit deadline will be included in your official offer from the University. If you have misplaced this please contact the Admissions Team via email at pg-ad@exeter.ac.uk. Details on how to pay your deposit can be found on our website.

Applications for new postgraduate students for 2015/16 open on Monday 13 April 2015.

Postgraduate accommodation is allocated on a first-come first-served basis, so we would encourage you to apply early in order to maximise your choices and options and avoid disappointment. You do not need to have met your academic or English language conditions in order to apply for accommodation, however, you do need to have firmly accepted your offer and paid your deposit.

If you are an unaccompanied international postgraduate from outside of the EU in your first year of study and at Exeter for the full academic year (you are defined as an 'international' student only if you pay international fees), the University will guarantee to offer you Accommodation upon receipt of a completed accommodation application form which can be accessed here.

This guarantee will apply to those who firmly accept our offer of a place to study at Exeter and have applied for accommodation by 31 July 2015. Students who apply after this deadline will be allocated accommodation if places are available. Where places are not available, the Accommodation Office will provide assistance in finding alternative accommodation in the private sector.
For further information, including virtual tours, details about the accommodation options available at the University and to make an application, please visit the accommodation website.

If you require any advice about accommodation options available during the academic year, please contact sid@exeter.ac.uk or telephone to 0300 555 0444 or international via +44 1392 724724.

Requests for deferral will be considered on a case by case basis. Applicants wishing to defer need to put their request in writing via our online contact form (please ensure you quote your Exeter Reference Number – which can be found on the top of your offer email). We aim to notify applicants of an outcome within 10 working days.

Applicants are only permitted to defer entry once. Subsequent to this, a new application will be required which will be considered in line with others applying for entry in that year.

The deadline for submitting a deferral request is 30th September.
