Jay works with academics and University research groups with an interest in creative economy. This includes performance, the experience economy, media and creative digital technologies, including immersive technology and digital media. His role supports academics define research proposals, identify and build partnerships within industry, develop sector growth initiatives and to develop research based learning and teaching material. Jay also works with colleges to develop student experience and employment opportunities in the creative industries, through placements, career intelligence and skills development.
Within the University of Exeter Business School Jay supports a number of research projects which look to strengthen knowledge and business resilience in the creative sector, from analysis of industry and customer data to development and adoption of new technology and digital techniques. He also supports numerous relationships between UEBS research groups and industry, including Mozilla, Libraries Unlimited, LGA, TechExeter and regional creative technology and arts organisations.
Jay has a first class BA degree in Economics and Geography (UWE), a PGDip in Social Science (Open) and a PGDip in Strategic Leadership and Management (Warwick). Jay also has a Post-graduate Diploma in Executive Coaching (Warwick). Jay is a member of the Institute for Economic Development, PraxisUnico, the Association of Project Management and the Association for Coaching.
