Double Degree programmes

With our innovative Double Degree programmes you’ll spend your first year at Exeter and a second year at another world class international institution, resulting in two Masters degrees.

We offer three fantastic Double Degree options with:

After completing your Masters at Exeter you will transfer to one of these partner institutions to complete a second period of study and gain another masters. These prestigious institutions have been selected as Double Degree partners due to their academic excellence, international standing, and because their subject specialisations compliment those at Exeter. This means that whichever Exeter programme you have studied, you will find relevant modules available to expand your knowledge further.

All three partner institutions teach in English, but it is an excellent opportunity to develop your language skills and fully experience a second culture.

Please Note: Allocation onto Double Degree programmes is subject to achieving the required marks in the first semester. Students are not allowed to undertake a double degree programme in their country of birth or country of nationality due to the entrance requirements of our partner institutions.

Grenoble Ecole de Management

Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM) is accredited by EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA: the ‘Triple-Crown’ of business school accreditations. It is ranked 13 in the FT Masters in Management rankings and 29 in the FT European Business School rankings.

Master of Science in Management – taught in English

Programme structure

After the first year of studies eligible students progress to GEM and choose 60 ECTS from a wide range of specialisation subjects offered at Graduate level. Located in the French ‘Silicon Valley’, GEM’s programme focusses on Technology Management, Innovation and International Management. This also includes French language courses at a level suited to your prior proficiency. Following examinations in April, students undertake a 6 month work placement in a country of their choice and complete their studies with oral examinations and a written report.

Students must be of good academic standing and have good knowledge of the fundamentals of management.

Students will be selected and nominated to GEM by the University of Exeter Business School. Fees

Under the exchange agreement with GEM, students only pay tuition fees to the University of Exeter Business School for the additional period of study.

Fudan University School of Economics

Fudan University School of Economics is one of China’s best higher education institutions, consistently ranked in the top three Chinese universities. It is ranked 51st in the world by the QS World Rankings 2016, and 24th in Asia by THE World University Rankings 2015.

Bespoke Master of Economics in World Economics – taught in English

Programme structure

After the first year of studies eligible students progress to Fudan University School of Economics where they take courses from the English-taught two-year EMA Chinese Economy Programme curriculum. The course explores a variety of themes relating to the economies of China and South East Asia, for example modern Chinese economic theory and international trade. Students gain the political and cultural knowledge necessary for understanding the Chinese Economy on an interdisciplinary level. There are 12 CC of compulsory courses, between 4 and 8 CC of optional courses and 3 CC for the Master’s thesis. Students can also participate in additional short courses.

Students enrolled at the University of Exeter on one of the following programmes are eligible to apply for the Double Degree with Fudan University School of Economics:

  • MSc Financial Economics

EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht

EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht (Business and Law), located near Frankfurt/Main, is one of the leading private business schools in Germany and is accredited by EQUIS and FIBAA. The EBS Master in Management ranked 11th in the Financial Times Global Masters in Management Ranking 2015. The programme therefore belongs to the top group worldwide and is rated one of the best three performers in this category in Germany. Furthermore, EBS is the number one in the categories corporate strategy and organizational behaviour.

Programme structure

After the first year of studies eligible students progress to EBS University, where they enrol in one of these four Master programmes with 2 semesters of study followed by a Master Thesis and an oral defence. EBS provides opportunities to specialise in subject areas such as Automotive Management (one of Germany’s biggest employment industries), or Finance with particular focus on Private Wealth Management. Other specialisations offered by EBS University include Marketing, Supply Chain Management or Strategy and Organisation. The EBS Career Service Center can assist students who also wish to take an internship in a country of their choice.

Eligibility

Students must be of good academic standing and have good knowledge of the fundamentals of management. Subject specific admission requirements may apply subject to the programme students’ wish to apply for. Basic level of German language is preferable, but students without any prior learning experience of German will normally take the intensive pre-sessional German language course offered by EBS, and have the option of taking in-sessional German language classes.

EBS requires students to take a GMAT test, or their internal EBSgrad as alternative to the GMAT.
