What to do now: Key dates and pre-arrival information
Before you arrive on campus, there are some important things you need to know. Please read the following carefully:
You will soon receive information from the University about your arrival, including details on how to register. Further information can be found on the Information for New Students 2016 web page.
Freshers’ Week runs from Saturday 10th September – Sunday 18th September 2016. All students are required to be on campus by Monday 12th September. If you cannot be here by this date for unavoidable reasons, please see information for late arrivals below.
Please visit our Freshers’ Week 2016 page for more details. This will be updated over the summer with a printable timetable of events and talks, so please check regularly.
Once you have received your IT access, you can also check your timetable from 31st August to see which Academic Induction events you should be attending during Freshers' Week.
Choosing Your Modules*
You will be able to start selecting your module choices for this year online from 24th August. Please select the modules that you wish to sign up to as soon as possible. Doing this quickly will give you the widest choice – popular modules fill up very quickly. If you don’t choose your elective modules in good time, the modules you wish to take may be full.
- Look at the Business School Module Descriptor pages for information about each module. Don’t forget to look at modules offered by other Colleges (see College websites for more information) if you would like to take a subject outside the Business School, such as a foreign language.
- Visit the Business School’s Build a Degree page to explore your options and plan your degree programme.
- Go to the Online Module Selection page where you will find instructions on how to choose your modules.
*Please note: Students entering directly into Year Two will not be able to choose their modules online. Please send your module choices in an email to email@example.com with the words ‘Direct Entry Second Year Modules’ in the subject heading.
If you are an international student you will need to make sure you register with the University promptly on arrival, so that you gain access to all of the IT facilities, to register on your programme and your modules. For more information about your arrival for international students please take a look at the International Students’ Freshers’ Week Programme 2016. Look out for information on our Welcome Talks for International Students, which can be found on our Freshers’ Week 2016 page
