International partner: Virginia Modeling, Analysis & Simulation Center (VMASC), Old Dominion University, Virginia.
The purpose of this research exchange is to establish collaborative research activities between the Virginia Modeling Analysis and Simulation Center and the University of Exeter School of Business in the domains of 1) Modeling and Simulation of Complex Systems; 2) Integrating of simulations in Cloud-based Environments and 3) Use of Modeling and Simulation to teach Science and Math to High school and Middle School students. VMASC is world leading in these areas.
Expected benefits for OiT cluster:
- Further strengthens the visibility of OiT cluster and the Business School in international M&S research community (this follows from Nav’s leadership role in leading simulation conferences in the last three years).
- Development of academics within OiT that have a common intellectual interest in systems modelling
- Opportunity for OiT to apply for UK-US research funding
- Internationalisation objective of the cluster (OiT researchers working with VMACS authors)
