Phil Godsiff, Research Associate and PhD student

Phil Godsiff

Phil is a Research Associate and PhD student within ISR. His doctoral thesis concentrates on the application of the existence of “Wicked Problems” (Rittel and Webber 1976) to operational design and management.

His research is currently concentrated on the theoretical and epistemological foundations that systems thinking can provide to the development of Service Science, one of the major topics on which research in Operations, Management and Marketing is being concentrated.  Systems Thinking, the study of the behaviour and adaptation of entities and their relationships with other entities and their environment, as opposed to reductionist analysis of their parts, provides a fruitful basis for understanding and progressing Service Science.
