Scholarships

The following scholarships will be available for the One Planet MBA for 2014/15 applicants. 

  • Applicaitons for Denis Cheung One Planet Scholarship will be open until 21st July 2014.
  • Applications for all other scholarships for 2014/15 are now closed.  
  • Please note, you need to have received an offer of a place on the One Planet MBA before you can apply for a scholarship.

NEW Denis Cheung One Planet MBA Scholarship for Students from Hong Kong or mainland China

We are pleased to announce that a new scholarship of up to £20,000 is available for a student from Hong Kong or mainland China wanting to undertake the full time One Planet MBA starting in September 2014. This scholarship has been generously donated by Mr Denis Cheung (Engineering Science 1969), an Exeter University alumnus based in Hong Kong. The Denis Cheung One Planet MBA Scholarship will be awarded to an exceptional applicant, especially where they can demonstrate financial need.

To be considered for this scholarship you must first apply to join the full time programme and be given an offer. Please complete the online application form here. The deadline for applications for both the programme and the scholarship is 21st July 2014 at 16:00 (CST time, i.e. GMT + 7 hours).

Please note that you will be required to email a personal statement of up to 750 words detailing why you feel you should be considered for this Scholarship Award. You should include any significant management, professional and/or sustainability achievements you would like to be taken into consideration for this Award and how you would envisage making use of your new knowledge and skills after the programme. Also, you should indicate a clear and demonstrable case that, without the scholarship, you would not have the financial means to undertake the MBA.

MBA Emerging Global Leader Scholarship

To celebrate 25 years of MBA excellence at the University of Exeter Business School, we have launched this year a new MBA Emerging Global Leader Scholarship.  This scholarship is valued at £10,000 and will be awarded to an exceptional applicant who can demonstrate academic excellence and strong business leadership skills with outstanding future potential.

To apply for the MBA Emerging Global Leader Scholarship, please complete the online application form here.  You will need to upload a 750 word statement on why you should be considered for this award, with emphasis on your leadership experience and qualities. 

The Ayudar Scholarships

Two scholarships have been donated by an alumnus of the Business School to support full-time One Planet MBA students from Colombia. The scholarships are valued at £25,000 each and will cover the One Planet MBA tuition fee, with a contribution to accommodation and living expenses.

Please note that you will be required to upload a statement of up to 750 words detailing why you feel you should be considered for an Ayudar Scholarship Award. You should include any significant management, professional and/or sustainability achievements you would like to be taken into consideration for this Award and how you would envisage making use of your new knowledge and skills after the programme in contributing back to Colombia.

Afren One Planet MBA Scholarship

This scholarship is valued at £35,000, and covers the full One Planet MBA tuition fee as well as a contribution towards accommodation and living expenses.

Eligible candidates will need to:

  • Meet the full entry requirements for the One Planet MBA.
  • Have a background or demonstrable interest in the oil and gas sector.
  • Be a resident of one of the following countries/regions: Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana, Iraqi Kurdistan, Kenya, Madagascar, Nigeria, Seychelles, Tanzania.

You will need to upload a statement of up to 750 words outlining your background and/or interest in the oil and gas sector, what benefits do you think you will gain from undertaking the One Planet MBA and what particular skills and abilities you can offer Afren that might set you apart from other Scholarship applicants.

Syngenta One Planet MBA Scholarship

The Syngenta scholarship is valued at £25,000 and covers the full One Planet MBA tuition fee as well as a contribution towards accommodation and living expenses.

Eligible candidates will need to:

  • Meet the full entry requirements for the One Planet MBA.
  • Have a background or demonstrable interest in food security or related topics such as environmental health and rural communities.

To apply for the Syngenta One Planet MBA Scholarship, please complete the online application form here.  

You will need to include a statement of up to 750 words outlining why you feel you should be considered for the Syngenta Scholarship. You should include details of your background and/or interest in food security; what benefits do you think you will gain from undertaking the One Planet MBA; and how do you envisage being able to apply the knowledge you have developed to further the area of food security.

The Betty Dale MBA Scholarship

A distinguished alumna of the University of Exeter MBA Programme, Betty Dale, has generously donated a scholarship to assist an MBA student in funding their studies.  

This scholarship is valued at £2,500 and will be awarded to an exceptional applicant at the discretion of the Programme Director.  This Award is offered in celebration of 25 years of MBA at the University of Exeter. 

Corporate Partnership Scholarships

Several MBA Scholarships up to a value of £5,000 are available and supported by our network of corporate partners, including:

Atos, Canon, Coca Cola, The Cooperative Group (coming soon), IBM, IKEA, Lafarge, Lloyds Banking Group and Thomson Reuters.

These scholarships include the opportunity of an internship or a consultancy assignment with the sponsoring company. Please note, you can apply for a maximum of 2 corporate scholarships but students can only receive one award.

 You will need to write a statement of up to 750 words for each Corporate Partnership Scholarship you apply for describing any significant management, professional and/or sustainability achievements you would like us to take into consideration for this Award and explain why you have chosen this particular company and what particular skills and abilities can you offer your chosen company that might set you apart from other Scholarship applicants?

Applying for a Scholarship

You need to have received an offer of a place on the MBA before you apply for a scholarship.

You can then complete the online scholarship application form from 31st January 2014 for entry on our Full Time Programme the following September.  The deadline for all scholarship applications is set to 31st May 2014.  

All scholarships are awarded on a discretionary basis by our generous donors, with eligibility assessed on the basis of your academic qualifications, work experience and your personal statement.

Please note:

  • you can apply for a number of Scholarships but students can only be awarded one.
  • no feedback will be communicated to unsuccessful applicants
  • all decisions are final.
