Further details
Reflecting on a series of three interrelated studies of people running large UK-listed companies (1987-89, 1998-2000 and 2009-2011), this seminar will explore some of the challenges and perennial problems of research in this field and across time. This will include how to theorize context, leadership and governance, as well as how to conduct longitudinal research when the sample keeps changing due to takeovers, delisting or bankruptcy as well as a variety of participants’ personal changes. In so doing, I will draw out some of the contemporary academic and practitioner implications in developing a process-oriented sensemaking analysis of the small top management teams and boards leading FTSE companies.
