There is much to celebrate about modern life, yet we still face persistent problems of both today and tomorrow. Income inequality is rising across most Western nations and the threat of climate change looms over our collective futures. Meanwhile, we continue to measure societal progress in terms of economic growth, rather than what really makes life worthwhile. It is time for an alternative approach. In this inspiring talk, Nic Marks, TED speaker and one of the world’s leading thinkers on wellbeing and happiness, presents innovative solutions and tools, such as the Happy Planet Index and the Five Ways to Wellbeing. In a wide ranging talk Nic will explore how we can implement changes to our own lives, our communities and broader society, both now and in the future. This event is being jointly organised between the charity NOW and the BID Cluster in the Business School
