South West @ 6
South West @ 6 to get together local businesses, University of Exeter alumni and academics
The local business community can meet University of Exeter experts and hear about new ways of introducing sustainable working practices at an event next month.
South West @ 6, organised by the University of Exeter’s Business School, is designed to bring together staff and owners of local businesses, Exeter alumni and academics.
Taryn Mead, Marie Curie Early Stage Researcher in the Business School, will speak about biomimicry - copying the example of nature to tackle human problems - and its use as a tool for innovation and sustainability. She will discuss her history as a corporate consultant using this tool and her recent research investigating how it is used in multinational corporations. This will be followed by a short question and answer session.
The event will be held on 10 February, 2016, from 18:00 to 20:30 in the Xfi building on the University of Exeter’s Streatham campus.
Randolph Gratton, Head of Partnerships at the Business School, said: “This is a brilliant opportunity for members of the South West business community to connect with each other, over drinks and nibbles, and meet with University of Exeter alumni. They can talk to Business School academics to discover more about the work they do, and the impact of their work in the South West.”
Tickets for the event are free of charge, but booking, through an online form, is essential.
