Watercolour of the Business School cohort

Graduating Business students donate trees to the University of Exeter’s Penryn campus

Students graduating from the University of Exeter’s BSc Business programme have gifted a trio of Cork Oak trees to be planted at the university’s Penryn campus.

The gift came from students who were on a final year module entitled ‘Crisis, Change and Creativity’. As part of the module they worked with Matt Hocking at Cornish design agency Leap to explore the principles of ‘co-creation.’ During this work the students decided to give something back by planting a legacy tree and sourced three Cork Oak trees from local supplier Burncoose Nurseries.

Alongside giving the commemorative trees, students received a photograph of the cohort taken by a local photographer and a watercolour and ink sketch of the photo.

Stephen Hickman, Director of Education and Programme Director for BSc Business at the University of Exeter’s Business School in Cornwall, said: ‘’The BSc Business programme in Cornwall is focussed on environmental sustainability and social responsibility and it is great to see our students have put these values into practice by leaving this legacy.”
