Dean visits Hong Kong

During last week and this, Professor Robin Mason, the Dean of the Business School is accompanying the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sir Steve Smith, on visits to Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

As part of the visit to Hong Kong, they will be promoting the Business School to senior figures in the corporate world, including Exeter alumni, with a view to building a solid foundation for the development of international corporate partnerships. It is expected that these will have many mutual benefits including student internship and graduate job opportunities, research collaborations and funding.

They are hosting a dinner at the Mandarin Oriental on the evening of Monday 18 November for around 30 senior members of Hong Kong’s business community, in addition to holding a series of meetings, from which they’re aiming to get input on their plans for developing the University’s presence in Hong Kong and the region, as partners in education, research and business.  In particular, they’re keen to hear about the business environment, the challenges business faces and how the Business School might be able to help meet these challenges.
