Alumni donation funds new post in Xfi
A new post at the Business School's Xfi Research Centre is being funded by a generous donation from alumnus Howard Appleby (Economics & Statistics 1980). The “Appleby Research Fellow in Portfolio Management” will be a vital part of the Centre’s growth, with an industry-focused research brief.
Building on the Centre's established reputation for applied research in fund management and investment analysis, the post-holder will develop and pursue an independent research agenda in portfolio management or a closely related area, generating research output at the very highest level and further strengthening the Centre's links with the Finance industry.
Mr Appleby is a founding partner of the independent US investment management firm, Northern Cross LLC. He visited the campus in January, meeting with Anna Verhamme and Professor Richard Harris, as well as colleagues at the University’s Sports Park.
