Backstage is back for 2011

Now in its fourth year, ‘Backstage’ the event management industry evening, is happening on March 8 at the University of Exeter Business School.

Already one of the most popular employability events in the calendar, this year’s line up has some surprises in store.

Students from across the University will have the opportunity to meet a host of industry big hitters. One of these is Dennis Arnold, owner of 3A Entertainment Ltd, the UK’s third biggest promoter and ticket distributor. The website can be found at He is joined by Sandra Sullivan from PS8, Chris Parry-Jones from Gallowglass and Ian Forshew from  Student Seed. They will be joined by a host of other industry professionals.

Lecturer Paul Barton from the Business School and the event organiser said “The ‘Backstage’ evening gives students from across the University the opportunity to network with key figures from the events industry. They will also learn more about the different employment prospects on offer which will help them decide if this sector is for them. We are expecting a huge turnout and a lively atmosphere.”

Rachel Torr, Employability Officer for the Business School added “At the School, we try and give our students exposure to the widest possible selection of future careers and this event definitely meets that objective. It has always been incredibly popular and successful and generates a huge level of interest amongst our undergraduates – after all, not everyone wants to work in City.

The event is being held on the 8 March in the atrium of the Xfi building between 18.00 – 20.30.

More details can be found on the Employability website.

Date: 3 March 2011
