Cranfield Regatta Racing

Teams fight for places in the Solent

Business School celebrates first regatta victory

A team made up exclusively from students on the Exeter MBA course came in a fantastic first place at the 19th Cranfield Business School Regatta, an international sailing event, designed to allow MBA students and alumni from all over Europe to meet their counterparts from other business schools. With support from Vospers, the team beat off competition from 36 other yachts, coming first in three out of the five races and making them overall champions of the event.

Fabian King, one of the Exeter team commented ‘Despite four of our team being complete novices before the training weekend, we all worked really hard for each other during each race and never allowed the pressure to overwhelm us. I am thrilled to be part of the team that has managed Exeter’s first win in this competition.’

Birgitte Aga, another team member added ‘It was an incredible experience and one that I will always cherish. It was also a fantastic way to test the lessons in leadership, teamwork, problem solving and endurance that we have been studying as part of our MBA.’

Event organiser, Mike Bannon summed up ‘Exeter Business School wiped the board by the biggest margin since the Regatta first started 19 years ago!’
